Casual / Permanent Booking?

Definition of a Permanent Booking

A discounted session rate is available for permanent bookings. Permanent bookings are those bookings where the same weekly sessions have been scheduled for your child. You are charged if your child is absent from a permanent session unless three days written notice is given of any changes. Please notify staff in writing if your child will not be attending at their scheduled session.

Definition of a Casual Booking

Casual bookings are available. Please contact the centre to book children into a session.

Changes to bookings:

After School Care: No fee is charged if at least three days’ notice is given. Vacation Care the fee is charged at full rate if there are changes to bookings due to rosters and staff requirements.

Absence due to illness:

No fee is charged if a child is absent due to illness and the Centre is notified by 12:00 pm on the day. A medical certificate must be provided by 5pm Friday of the week the illness occurred. (Absences when a child is sick but no certificate is provided will be charged full fee.)

Other absences:

All other absences will be charged full fee.

The Federal Government allow families to claim a maximum of 42 days of Child Care Benefit on days children are booked into care but are unable to attend. For children in Out of School Hours Care this will include days where they are booked for Before After and Vacation care.

Allowable absences are paid for up to 42 days per financial year and can be taken for any reason.

An equipment fee is charged per family. This is an annual fee and is payable during first term or the first time children attend if enrolling throughout the year. The fee being:

$25.00 -for 1 child
$45.00 – for 2 children
$55.00 – for 3 or more children.

This fee covers all craft costs and the replacement of equipment. The fee is payable during the first term the child is attending the centre.

Childcare Benefit or CCB

Childcare benefit (CCB) is provided by the Federal Government to help reduce the cost of care to parents. For many parents, Childcare Benefit significantly reduces the cost of care. Some of our families are entitled to a deduction of their daily fees through CCB. Alternatively eligible families can choose to claim this deduction at the end of the financial year.

The Federal Government manages the Child Care Benefit through the Child Care Management system (CCMS). This system puts the responsibility on parents to keep the Family Assistance Office (FAO) up to date with any changes to details especially income and work details.

In order to receive Child Care Benefit and Childcare Rebate, parents MUST provide us with the following information:

  • Name and date of birth of both parents
  • Customer Reference Number of one parent
  • Name, date of birth and Customer Reference Number of ALL Children

Without this information Family Assistance Office is unable to ‘link’ you and your child to our service and no reduced fees or rebate will be processed to you.

Families who do not wish to claim either CCB or Child Care Tax Rebate can still be enrolled and attend our service but are deemed ‘informal enrolments’ by the Federal Government.

Child Care Rebate (CCR)

The Australian Federal government offers financial assistance to families using approved care through the 50% Child Care Rebate. This means parents can claim 50% of out of pocket expenses to a maximum of $7500 per child per annum.

You must have a ‘formal enrolment’ with North Kiama OOSH to be entitled to claim this subsidy. The Rebate could be paid fortnightly, directly to your child care service or to you. You could still choose to receive the payments quarterly or annually. You need to contact the Family Assistance Office for information on what you are entitled to and how to claim, visit or call the Family Assistance Office on 136150.
